General Terms and Definitions
Immediate Need
- Grants will range in amounts from $100 to $1,000.
- Active, full or part-time non-exempt employees, community managers of Holiday are eligible for up to two (2) grants not to exceed $1,000 combined, in a rolling 12-month period.
- Definition of "active employee" is classified as on the Holiday payroll system as active and having worked in the last 90 days or on approved leave of absence.
- All requests must be submitted within 30 days of event.
- Grants will not duplicate protection that is available through health, disability, life, automobile or homeowner's insurance programs.
- Class member must prove financial hardship as follows:
- Provide relevant financial disclosures which indicate no other available assets if requested.
- Provide documentation that supports the request for a grant as indicated in the appropriate grant category and criteria.
- Unexpected emergency or catastrophic disaster creating need for assistance must have occurred while an active employee of Holiday.
- Definition of immediate family member is: a parent (including step), grandparent (including step), spouse, sibling, child (including step), in-laws, same/opposite sex partner and their children/family, or other person cohabitating with the class member. Proof of cohabitation will be made with copy of state issued identification that shows the same address as the class member or a utility bill in the name of the cohabiter with the same address as the class member.
- Definition of emergency medical treatment is: treatment for an injury or a disease/illness for which the person has not been previously diagnosed or treated in the last 24 months.
Substantial Need
- Grants will range in the amounts from $1,000 to $5,000.
- Holiday Retirement active, full or part-time employees up through manager level are eligible for one (1) grant not to exceed $5000 combined, in a rolling 12-month period.
- Definition of "active employee" is classified as on the Holiday payroll system as active and having worked in the last 90 days or on approved leave of absence. Temporary employees are not eligible.
- All requests must be submitted within 6 months of event.
- Unexpected emergency or catastrophic disaster creating need for assistance must have occurred while an active employee of Holiday. In the case of educational expenses, you must be employed at the time that you are accepted to attend the institution or must be actively attending the institution during your employment.
- Grants will not duplicate protection that is available through health, disability, life, automobile or homeowner's insurance programs.
- Applicant must prove financial hardship as follows:
- Provide relevant financial disclosures which indicate no other available assets if requested.
- Provide documentation that supports the request for a grant as indicated in the appropriate grant category and criteria.
- Grants must be for assistance with necessary living expenses such as rent, childcare, food, and other bills; assistance with medical expenses such as hospital/treatment bills and ongoing care; or assistance with educational expenses such as tuition and books.
- Grants will be made on a quarterly basis.
- The decision to make or deny a grant is at the sole discretion of the Board.
